Baby Bridesmaids Continued Again...

Ok, it is official. I have completed my Junior Bridesmaids gifts.

WAHOOOO!!!

I went to Forever 21 yesterday to purchase one more bag that I talked about yesterday. In the midst of my shopping experience, I found these:

Aren't they cute?! I was so excited. And the price? $3.80!!

That brings my Jr. Bridesmaid gift total to $5.99 + 3.80 = $9.79!

One thing that I was really excited about is that the bracelets look nice, but they aren't super expensive to where I am nervous about giving them to a bunch of tweens. If they break it or loose it, oh well! :) I can check them off my list.

Are you having any juniors?

Baby Bridesmaids Continued...

You may recall my post about the make-up bags that I found for my juniors. Well, they arrived, and they are...

FABULOUS!!!

They are exactly what I was hoping for. They are surprisingly heavy-duty, embroidered well, and cute! For $1.99, you just can't beat it. Here they are:

Here is one up close of the "S" make-up bag for niece S. :)

Cute, right?

Well, then I stumbled upon a GREAT find at Michaels (I LOVE that place). I found cosmetic mirrors and journals to add to their gift bag. They were each a dollar, and ADORABLE to say the least.
Here are the journals.

Here are the mirrors.

And here they are matching fabulously together. :)

I intend on getting some lip gloss and other girly accessories for the makeup bag.
Then, all of the items will go nicely in this bag that I found at Forever 21 for $1.50.

The other side of the bag says Love in the same writing. I thought that they were very tween-y.

So far:
- personalized make-up bag : $1.99
- journal: $1.00
- compact: $1.00
- cute bag to put it in: $1.50
- (not shown) Smaller note pad with initial on front (Michaels): $.50
----------------------------------------------------
Total: $5.99 each.

Not too shabby eh?

What to look for this week:

Happy Monday everyone. I hope this blog finds you all nice and relaxed after the weekend. I just wanted to give you all a little update with what to expect to see this week. It should be fun!

- Junior Bridesmaid Gifts. I thought this would be a major challenge, but I think I still remember what it is like to be 13.

- Napkins! You guys don't realize how excited I am for this part. Weird, I know.

- Toasting Glasses. We ordered ours FOREVER ago, and I never shared them with you.

- RSVP card organizer. Random, yes I know; but, I am in <3 with this thing. Plus, I am saving the invites for next week! ;)

There may be a few other goodies thrown in, but you can definitely expect to see these babies this week.

Take care until next time,

P.S. We finally registered and it was a lot more difficult than I had anticipated. There will be a story about that later as well.

Crate and Barrel Registry

Does anyone have any idea what is up with the Crate and Barrel Registry? It will only let me register if my wedding date is from now until April 7, 2009. I am sorry but 100% of couples that register, register more in advance than 11 days before their wedding!! What the heck!?

The Band

... And no, I am not talking about a musical band.

A while ago I posted pictures of my e-ring. Now, I will share some pictures of my wedding band. It is a 2 karat eternity band. So, in 6 months, I will be rockin' 3 1/2 karats worth of diamonds on my left hand. I am still in shock by it. MyMr spoils me too much. :)

Here they are (excuse my poor photography):

We met at UCSD, home of the tritons, so I had to rock a little school spirit.

We met in the computer lab at UCSD, so I thought that a picture of my rings surrounding the letter "B" (my new last name starts with B) would be appropriate.

Well, there is it. :)

Did you pick out your ring with your fiance, or did he pick it out for you?

Under 200!?

I just looked at my countdown to the wedding only to discover that we are officially under the 200 day count. Wow, how time flies. What is crazy is that we have been engaged for 522 days. Why the heck aren't we married yet?! haha

What is your latest and greatest countdown milestone?

Love is an eternal flame...

I am going to be completely honest here... favors are typically SUCH a waste. Of course I want to thank my guests for coming and sharing our special day, but are guests really touched by getting a 50 cent key chain? I doubt it.

Since myMr and I are on such a tight budget, I wanted our favors to be inexpensive, yet something somewhat useful. This is what we came up with:

White Votive candle (Michael's 24 for $4.99 [plus I used a coupon so it was even cheaper])

Votive candle holder (Michael's 2 for 99 cents)
Ribbon (Wholesale supplier in San Diego [I bought it forever ago so I forget the price, but it was very reasonable])

Voila! :)

Total price including the ribbon was less than .70 cents a person. It is simple, cute, and hopefully won't be thrown away on the way out! :)

I am going to place them on the plate of each guest as well as lining our head table (I will not put ribbon on the ones lining our head table).

What favors have you decided on?

Photo Centerpieces

I found the idea for these centerpieces on Martha Stewart's website. I am pleasantly surprise with how they turned out. myMr and I will not be using them for centerpieces, but we will be using them to adorn the bar since we will not be serving alcohol at the wedding. Check it out!

*Disclaimer: My printer was running out of ink so some of the pictures printed really light. *

I purchased these frames at Michael's for $1.00 a piece.

Then, I printed out pictures on vellum. Yes, that's right, vellum.

Then, after placing the pictures in their designated frames, I attached them in the shape of a triangle (you can do a square if you choose to use 4 pictures). I placed a battery operated "candle" inside of the triangle, and voila!

To be perfectly honest, I haven't attached the frames yet. Martha Stewart suggests using a certain kind of tape, but I am going to be a handy woman and make a trip to Home Depot to purchase hinges for the frames. :) The pictures shown above are from FSIL's wedding. I will be giving her this frame for her birthday. :)

What do you all think? Will you be incorporating pictures of you and your SO on your wedding day?

I want to start off by saying THANK YOU to all of you for your warm wishes on my last post. This is such an exciting time and I am so happy to share it with all of you! :)

But here is where the news starts...

Are you ready?

How about now?

Okay, I will tell you...

I GET TO HAVE A WEDDING!!!!!

myMr and I are not going to have to elope after all. I am really really shocked to be writing those words, but I could not be more excited. We had the dreaded money talk with my parents last night and they said that they think they are going to be able to come up with the money! I am seriously on cloud 9 right now.

It seems that the economy is SLOWLY starting to make a small turn around for my dad's company, but it is big enough that they are going to be able to give us the money promised. WAHOOO!!!

So, in spirit of the exciting news, I did TONS of wedding stuff today! I have several cute things to show you all. I will be posting everything through out the week. Keep an eye open for it all! :) :)

Take care until next time,

P.S. I got our invitations today!!!!!!!!!!

Baby's Breath Bouts

Since I intend on doing baby's breath bouquets for my girls (as seen here), I have been trying to figure out what boutonnieres would look nice with such chic bouquets. Then, I stumbled across these:

It was love at first sight.

Are your bouts going to match your bridesmaid bouquets?

E = MC^2 anyone?

Not gonna lie, how fantastically nerdy are these table numbers and escort cards!!! If only myMr and I were Chemistry nerds instead of Computer Science nerds.

Are you incorporating table names to match you and your FI's personalities?

Quick Post...

Thank you SO much for all of your support. You have no idea how much it means to me. Things will be okay. I have faith in that! :) I will definitely be sure to keep you all updated as things progress.

On a side note, I got the junior bridesmaid makeup bags in the mail. They are GREAT!!! I cannot believe that they were only $1.99. They are super thick and well made. :)

Even if we elope, I will give them to my junior's for their bdays or something. :) I can't let those go to waste!!

Eloping...

Well ladies and gents...

After 17 months of planning and preparation, there is a 90% chance that myMr and I will be eloping this summer. It will not be just the two of us (our parents and siblings will accompany us) but we will not have our wedding as planned.

This has stemmed from an ongoing issue with my parents. I guess we can say that they have made many promises that they can't keep. They definitely take care of themselves.

Back in August, regardless of my opinions, my parents purchased a motor home. My parents have the tendency to spend money that they don't have on stupid stuff that they don't use. (3 boats, deck, patio, numerous patio furniture sets, cars, and now a motor home) They purchased this motor home in August and they STILL have not used it (just as I predicted).

Unfortunately, this motorhome has taken place of my college education and wedding. They have already told me that I am going to have to pay over $18,000 in loans (which they had promised that they would pay) and now, there is a REALLY good chance that they will not be providing us with the money promised for our wedding. I will find out in the next 30 days or so.

MyMr and I could pay for the wedding ourselves, but we have made our priorities, and having a large wedding is not one of them. We want to buy a house. We want to start our future feeling comfortable. Buying a house AND paying for a wedding would not set us up for a comfortable life style.

His parents have offered to help us pay for the wedding, but the last thing we want is for them to monitor everything my parents waste their money on like myMr and I do. It would just add unnecessary tension.

All I want is to be married to myMr. I dont need a big wedding. I just need him.

I will keep you all updated as I find things out. They have promised to give us $3K in March. We have another venue deposit due in April. If they flake on giving us the money, then we will not pay anymore deposits with our venue and we will elope. If they follow through, then we will still have a wedding. Only time will tell.

I hope they actually follow through.

Take care until next time,
hisMrs
