Cheap Chic Bouquets

One word... WOW.

Source

If you don't get the picture above, then we must have a talk later ;)

Just when I thought I had the flowers all picked out for my bridesmaids, I stumbled upon the prettiest bouquet that I have seen in a LONG time. Plus, the ribbon matches my colors!!! Take a look at these beauties!!!

What do you guys think? I really want a bouquet of white roses, and I was thinking about how pretty it would be having a picture of these for my bridesmaids bouquets with my white roses in the center.

What do you think? Are they better than my idea for my junior bridesmaids?

There are WAY too many decisions to make...

DIY Centerpieces?!

Yes, I said it... we are doing DIY centerpieces.

I wasn't planning on this originally, but once I found my vases, it all just fell into place. My fabulously creative mother is actually the one who put them together. We are still trying to figure out what candle to use in the center, but without further ado, here they are:

The green fabric that you see on the table is a swatch of the fabric from our bridesmaid dresses. The vases are HUGE champagne glasses. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE them. I still can't decide what color candle to do inside the vase.

All of the flowers are silk flowers from Michael's. There is a mixture of fall leaves and dark poinsettias. All of the leaves and flowers are embellished with beautiful gold shimmer. It isn't tacky looking, but instead the shimmer completes the look.

What do y'all think? Do you have any other ideas to put the look over the top?!

I'm Fabulous?! No, you are!!!

First of all, I want to thank you all for the wonderful awards you have given me. They haven't gone unnoticed. I am planning on accepting and passing on each and every one of them!

Second of all, this award I was particularly excited about receiving. My goal behind creating this blog was to help just one person plan an amazing wedding. I never would have anticipated all of the amazing praise and encouragement that I have received. AND, hopefully in the meantime, I have helped someone out.

This award was given to me by Katie over at The Indecisive Bride. Although she claims to be so indecisive, her ideas and plans for her wedding have been absolutely amazing. She is a beautiful person, and I can just tell that her and her soon-to-be hubby are going to have a long happy life together. PLUS, she is moving to San Diego!!! We all know this is the best place evaaaaa! ;)

Rules of the tag:List 5 Obsessions/Addictions that you have, and tag back to the person(s) that gave you the award. Post the rules and tag and additional 5 people.

1. Google Reader: This one should seem obvious for all of you up-and-coming brides. I am completely addicted to Google Reader because of all the blogs I have to read. I read all of your posts over there. It is the best place for me to organize all the great ideas with the *star feature.

2. Gossip Girl: I know, I know... How can I be addicted to all of that drama, right? Man, I look forward to Monday at 8pm every week, for the small small hope that Chuck and Blair will look past all of their hardships and officially become a couple. They are way too perfect for each other. Honestly, they are the reason why I am addicted.

3. Target: I cannot walk into this place without making a purchase. I have even forgiven them for their TERRIBLE return policy. Their clothes are so cute, and their groceries are too inexpensive to pass up. Honestly, Target is BY FAR the best place to go grocery shopping. I'm telling you, you will save TONS of money.

4. Malibu Rum: What a lush, right? I actually rarely drink. I have had my share back in the day, but now, I am a party pooper. However, when I do drink, my favorite thing is Malibu Rum with Orange, Strawberry, Banana Juice. MMMMMM... try it sometime.

5. Michael's: Wow, I just realized that two out of my five obsessions are stores. This one is seriousssss. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Michael's. I could go shopping there everyday and be a happy camper. There are so many different artsy things to look at and try to do myself. It is so much fun! The best/worst part of all is that the Michael's by my work is the biggest/best Michael's ever. OMG... I need help with my addictions. :)

So now, my job is to tag 5 of you with Fabulous Blogs... It is a really hard choice since I think all of your blogs are fabulous, but here they are:

- Amy Jean over at The Relentless Bride. This girl is definitely fabulous. She always has great feedback for you as well as a fantastic blog. It is so much fun to read. She also always has contests for all of us brides on a budget. She is a great girl.

- Erika over at Southern Belle Wedding. Her wedding is going to be absolutely amazing. She has so many great ideas. It makes me wish that I was a Southern Belle!

- Mrs. Wonderful over at An Atlanta Bride. Her wedding is getting SO close. It is so exciting to see all of the different ideas that she has, all of which are wonderful. I always look forward to reading her blog!

- Caitlin over at From Ms. to Mrs.. This blog is so much fun to read. She is so real in all of her posts. I really feel like I can relate to her. Tight budget or not, her wedding is going to be beautiful!!!

- Last but not least, Sam at On my way to being a healthy bride. This girl is SUCH and inspiration. She was my first follower of my weightloss blog. She has done such a great job so far on her journey to be a healthy bride. This girl has already lost 11 pounds! Talk about amazing. Keep it up girl, you rock!

You all have great blogs. I hope you keep writing even after your big days!!!

The Hunt for the hisMrs/myMr Honeymoon

This post is going to be a little different than my other ones. Normally, I like to show off neat ideas that I have found to offer tips to those of your planning a wedding, just like myself. But today, I seek the advice of my fellow readers.

Like many, many people out there, the uncertain economy has definitely taken a toll on my wedding budget. We have decided to cut back A LOT so that we can save up money for a home/possible layoffs/uncertainties of the future. We have been doing a great job saving; however, there was an unexpected turn this weekend.

I am not going to go into detail to respect those who were involved (my parents). Let's just say that I am now, unexpectedly $18,000 in debt because of student loans. I didn't anticipate having to pay these, but that is another story. The bottom line is that I have this hanging over my head now.

So, what can you all help with, you ask? Well, aside from the wedding budget and my newly discovered debt, myMr and I still want to have a memorable honeymoon. We are cutting back like crazyyyy, but we have definitely decided to stay in the U.S. So, I ask you, what places would you suggest for a honeymoon that is budget friendly. We would be flying out of San Diego.

So far, we are considering:
Las Vegas (not quite the romantic atmosphere, but hey it would be fun!)

San Francisco (we were supposed to go a longgg time ago, but unfortunately had to cancel our trip)

Hawaii (We have both been, but not together. Very romantic)

Any other ideas? Oh yeah, our wedding is in October, so a place with nice weather would be nice... and hopefully no bugs! :)

Thank you all for your advice. I really appreciate it!

Baby Bridesmaid Bouquets

Ok, so maybe my junior bridesmaids are not babies anymore, but I had the whole "B" thing going.

Recently I stumbled across the PERFECT bouquet for my junior bridesmaids. I have four of them. They are 9, 10, 11, and 12 years old. They are too young and tiny to wear the bridesmaid dresses, so we opted to have them be junior bridesmaids. These girls are fantastic.

Well, for the bouquets for the wedding, myMr and I decided that it would be perfect to have the junior bridesmaids carry white gerbera daisies, the bridesmaids carry a mix of white gerbera daisies and white roses, and I will be carrying a beautiful bouquet of white roses. I also have considered doing gold feathers for the bottom part of the bridesmaid bouquets. That part is still in the works. However, I have found perfect bouquets for the junior bridesmaids. They are nice and petite, and very cost effective. Take a look at these beauties.

I love how small they are, yet there is a lot of character in them. Rather than having white ribbon around the stems, I think I will opt for gold ribbon. I can't imagine these being very expensive. I can't wait for my meeting with our florist. I hope we can find some very cost effective, yet cute bouquets for my ladies.

What do y'all think?

I will leave you with this link today. It is a link to the hundred push up challenge that I will be embarking on. It is totally off subject, but I think it could inspire many of you brides out there!

Scoop, there it is....

I am not personally doing this (although I now wish I was), but many people use candy stations at their weddings these days. This acts as an inexpensive way to give delicious favors to guests.

Well, in my adventures in wedding land, I stumbled upon these beauties.

I kinda wanna get them for my house... although I have no idea what I would use it for.

If you are interested, you can find them here:

Happy Planning!!! :)
