Our Venue: A closer look.

A few weeks ago, our venue had a mini Bridal Bazaar for all of their clients to come see the place decorated and get ideas for their weddings.

It was a real intimate setting. There were probably about 25 people that were not vendors checking out everything. I brought 3 with me. :)

I was able to drag my MOH, my MOM, and my DAD along so that they could see the venue all decorated for a wedding. They had never seen it decorated before and they were having a hard time picturing it.

Then, I realized, my readers probably don't have a great idea of where I will be getting married either. So, without further ado, here is Riverwalk Golf Course...

This is outside where the ceremony will take place. I will be using the white chairs, but they had the other ones there for people to consider using them. How great do the flower balls on the shepherds hooks look?! I am thinking about making them myself! :) Oh and from left to right is: my MOM, ME, my MOH.

Look how adorable this belly bar is!!! The ribbon around the bottom is the PERFECT color to match our wedding colors. This is definitely a feature I am considering.

They had several tables set up, but I could not keep my eyes off of this one. It is SO unique and gorgeous! What I found interesting is that the candles used on this table are the exact candles that we will be using at our wedding as favors for our guests.

Here is another view of the table :) I just can't get enough of it!

So, those are just a few teasers! There will be more to come in the future.

In the meantime, I have a random questions that I would like to find out... Has your venue raised their rates because of the economy?

Take care until next time,

First Thing is First...

Hello fellow readers,

So, for this entry I decided that we must start with one of the first steps in the wedding process... the venue! The venue is such an important part to the wedding because it truly sets the tone, budget, and theme for the whole wedding. MyMr and I have a very tight budget with the current economic crisis and whatnot, so it was very important for us to find a location that would either allow us to have our own caterer OR have very inexpensive food packages.

It took FOREVERRRRR for us to find a venue. Everytime that we would find a place, it would end up being about $100 a person (JUST FOR THE FOOD) or it wasn't available when we had hoped it would or the venue rental fee was insane.

Finally, when I thought we would never find a place, we stumbled upon Riverwalk Golf Course. This place is AMAZING. We have to use their food, but it is VERY reasonable (about $30 a person) and the venue fee is VERY small ($500). The place is gorgeous! The woman in charge of booking events is absolutely amazing as well! Rachel at Riverwalk has been an amazing help. She not only responds to my emails in a very timely manner, but she also has given me great advice for making the wedding day go smoothly. She is phenomenal.

All you readers out there, just know that I understand that choosing the venue can be a very high stress time. There were plenty of times where I thought we would never find a place within our budget. Have faith that there is a place out there and it is going to be beautiful no matter what. After all, all that matters is that you get to marry yourMr. :)

Since so much talk in the post has been about Riverwalk, the link for the day will be the link to their website:
