Premarital Counseling: Week 3

This weeks premarital counseling class was pretty cool!

We went around in a circle discussing something that many couples do not discuss together: Fear.

Realistically, EVERY person in a relationship has some sort of fear, no matter what stage of the relationship you are in. It is SUPER important to discuss these fears with your significant other.

Many men have the fear that they will not be able to financially provide for his wife. This is a VERY real fear that needs to be discussed.

Most fears can quickly be calmed with a simple, honest conversation, as long as the other person responds with an open heart.

So, this week, an exercise for you and your hubby to be is to share your fears, weaknesses, and more importantly have your spouse share how they can help reduce your fear. It will be a neat way to bring you closer and more on the same page. It really was a special conversation for myMr and me.

Take care until next time,

Homework after I have graduated?!

I am still alive y'all. I am SO sorry for the recent vacation from blogging. It was definitely NOT intentional.

Things have been absolutely CRAZY at work. I have been working 11 hour days. Then, I come home and eat with myMr and then get ready for bed. I cannot wait until Saturday because the major deadlines at work will be over with for now.

In the meantime, I have been reading all of your blogs and they are starred in my google reader so that I can go back and comment!!! I promise I will catch up!

So, today was our first day of premarital counseling. I am pleasantly surprised because I thought it was going to be dreadful. There are three other couples in our group...

1st couple: Super down to earth and really nice.
2nd couple: Didn't get to talk to them too much yet.
3rd couple: INTENSE couple. And by INTENSE, I mean beyond devoted to God (which is not a bad thing), that it is intimidating.

I think myMr and I will get a lot out of this class. Although we have already discussed most of our lessons in depth, there will definitely be little things that we will discover about each other.

One thing is for sure, they are not taking it easy on the HOMOWORK HOMEWORK. We have to read 75 pages by next week. PLUS we have to do an exercise together. Since this week is going to be crazy with work, I guess I will have to put it off until this weekend.

I will definitely be sharing interesting things that we learn in this class. I figure, if it brings myMr and I closer together, then maybe it will bring you and your Mr's closer together as well.

Well, I hope you all don't hate me for leaving you for so long without any word. I promise I am reading and I will comment. AND I will be doing a special post answering ALL of your great questions!!

Take care until next time,
